Henrik Bartl
​Member of the Management Board

Henrik Bartl is the Chief Financial Officer and Head of the Real Estate and Corporate Finance of EuroAtlantic, leading the investment and financing activities of the firm. Henrik Bartl has over 20 years property financing experience and has been directly responsible for more than $15 billion Hotel and Real Estate property financings by way of a diverse range of financial instruments. He has extensive experience in relation to high yield/mezzanine debt, convertibles, equities and principal investing experience in the real estate sector.

He has been on the board of Host AS for four years between 2008 and 2012, a real estate holding company with a portfolio of ca. €700 million.​

Mr. Bartl is a former Member of the Board of Valartis Bank AG (www.valartisgroup.ch) from 2006 to 2008, where he established the real estate underwriting and trading team as well as the refinancing and bond issuance program for the bank. Mr. Henrik Bartl is a former Managing Director and Co-head of Hotel Finance at Aareal Bank AG (www.aareal-bank.com) and responsible for the Real Estate Structured Finance Department, where he executed over € 3 billion p.a. in transactions globally. Henrik Bartl was directly responsible for a property portfolio of € 10 billion in ca. 20 countries and had joined responsibility for the Groups global hotel financing business with a team of 30 people, with direct responsibility of the Branches in Germany, Netherlands, Turkey and Asia. He structured and issued the first transatlantic real estate bond in an amount of € 1.1 billion, transaction which achieved the Euromoney “Deal of the Year” award in 2000. Prior to joining Aareal Bank in 1998, Mr. Bartl spent five years with HVS International (www.hvs.com) at their London and Vancouver Offices. He holds a BA degree from Cornell University School of Hotel Management and is a graduate from Centre International de Glion, Switzerland. He is a member of the IREFAC Council and became a member of the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC) in 2002.
Mike Leven
Advisory Board
Mike Leven, former President & CEO of Las Vegas Sands Corporation (www.lvs.com) is considered a hotel industry guru and has spent his entire 42- year career in the hotel industry. Until 1995, he was President & COO of Holiday Inn Worldwide, part of the Six Continents / Intercontinental Group (www.ihg.com). During his five-year tenure, Holiday Inn EXPRESS, which he initiated and launched, grew to 830 units. In 2006, there were 1.500 HI EXPRESS hotels. Mike Leven has worked with Arnulf Damerau on the attempted purchase of Tank & Rast to launch a 50-property budget hotel chain under the Microtel brand along the German highway network.
From 1985 to 1990, Leven was president of Days Inn of America (www.daysinn.com). He led the company through a reorganization resulting in growth from a 225-unit regional chain to one of the largest brands in the world with over 1,000 open units and 400 signed franchise agreements. Leven also served as president of Americana Hotels.
Leven is a trustee of National Realty Trust (www.nareit.com), The Marcus Foundation; and The Chief Executive Leadership Institute. He has served on the boards of Starwood Hotels (www.starwood.com) and Lodgian. He is presently on the Hersha Hospitality REIT board. Leven co- founded the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (www.AAHOA.com) which now has over 7,000 members, and has lectured at most of the hotel schools in the U.S. He is former international president of the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and a member of HSMAI’s Hall of Fame. He chaired the Millennium Occupancy & Revenue Effort (M.O.R.E.) task force, a marketing arm of the American Hotel & Motel Association (AH&MA), the AH&MA Government Affairs Committee, and also serves on the AH&MA’s CEO Council.
Leven is a native of Boston, Mass., and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University and Master of Science from Boston University.

Horst Jentschura

Horst Jentschura is former Director of HINES Interests.
As Technical Director Horst Jentschura was responsible for planning and construction of Henninger Turm in Frankfurt (2015/16 for Actris Henninger Turm GmbH & Co. KG). Since 2016 he is responsible for the Urbane Mitte Berlin as Technical Manager for the Urbane Mitte Entwicklungs GmbH & Co. KG.
From 2011 to 2015, as a developer for Bischoff & Compagnons and OVG Real Estate GmbH, he headed the planning and construction of HumboldtHafenEins in Berlin.
Horst Jentschura began in 1983 as an architect and worked for renowned architects such as O. M. Ungers and Murphy / Jahn in Frankfurt and Chicago. He was involved in the planning and construction of high-rise office buildings (Torhaus Messe Frankfurt, Messeturm) and trade fair exhibition halls in Frankfurt.
Since 1992 he has worked as project manager for project steering companies (Suter + Suter, KVL) and managed the projects Sony Center Berlin (1992-1994), Triton House Refurbishment Frankfurt and IVG's alliance portfolio in Stuttgart and München (400,000 square meters, Asset Management, 2006 -2011).
In 1994, Horst Jentschura joined Hines Grundstücksentwicklung as project manager, in 1999 Hühne Immobilien as managing director, in 2004 DB Station & Service AG as owner representative. He was responsible for the planning and construction of the DG Bank building on Pariser Platz in Berlin (architect Frank Gehry), Dorotheenhöfe Berlin (architect O. M. Ungers) and Berlin Central Station (architect Gerkan Marg and Partner). He led the development of Tower I of the UEC in Frankfurt (Phase 2) and was involved in the development of the Maintower in Frankfurt (Phase 2).
Horst Jentschura taught at Stanford University Palo Alto, FH Potsdam, Technical University of Berlin. He studied architecture at the TU Darmstadt and the TU Vienna.

Andreea Popa
Managing Director - Corporate Finance & Group Audit

Andreea Popa is an experienced investment and finance professional with more than 15 years experience in finance, commercial banking, investment banking, corporate finance, financial advisory, investment management, financial management, having been involved in projects amounting to ca. € 2 billion cumulated value.
Andreea joined EuroAtlantic since 2014, with focus on financing and investment management.
Andreea started her professional activity in 2000 in the corporate banking division of HVB Bank Romania (previously Bank Austria Creditanstalt Romania) where she was responsible for the financial analysis and review, as well as customer rating assessment, for a loan portfolio of ca. €250 million for more than 50 corporate borrowers. Starting 2005, she joined the investment banking arm of HVB Bank - CA IB Romania, subsidiary of CA IB Corporate Finance Beratungs Vienna, where she was involved as senior financial analyst in M&A projects, valuation and PE investment projects, as well as internal financial reporting.
In 2007 she continued the financial advisory activity as part of Deloitte Consultanta Romania as senior associate, and afterwards became corporate finance advisor reporting directly to one of the two shareholders of European Drinks Group, a diversified regional player diversified in multiple sectors including food & beverages production and distribution, real estate, tourism (hotels – development and operations), agriculture, media, with consolidated annual turnover of up to ca. € 300 million. In this position she worked closely with the managing owner in projects of high complexity including financing, debt restructuring, investments, international investment litigation (with ICSID), corporate governance, M&A, valuation, business planning, financial modelling.
Starting 2013, Andreea became an independent financial advisor, having previously executed corporate finance and financial management assignments in multiple sectors.
Andreea Popa majored in 2000, BA in Banking and Stock Exchanges, Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest and was awarded the CFA charter in 2006.
